Changing the Educational Paradigm

I believe the idea that changing the educational paradigm. In my country, it should be and can be. Some negotiations between the government and looking some successful countries which educational system is good and give an ideas from them can be alternative choices. But I think the most effective way to change the system for the Turkey, the authorities of the education system should see the systems malfunction and tell to everyone. They should want to change and show the necessity of it to the people also the government.  If the people and government believe that , the changing can start.

RESEARCH QUESTİON

Shouldn't be the teacher   more interested with the students ?

When I am in high school, my most teacher didn't give us more important. They just tell the topic and that's all. I think the teacher should care also the student's personal life. Everyone is people and everyone can encounter problems some times of the life.  Student can suffer these problems and maybe he/she cannot focus the teacher during the class. My high school teacher were like that, but when I came ODTU KKK , I saw many good teacher who cares students personal life.

So the teacher should give changes to the students. In the turkish educational system , there were many rude, hard and strict teacher. They also engaged in violence in the old educational system. This cause a students very bad with  psychologically and physically. Many students gave up the schools because of them in old times. Fortunately,  it has changing nowadays, but still there are things that must change. Firstly, I think the turkish educational system should change because it has many pointless system. For example, the students educational life are connected to the one exam. When you finished the high school, you must get a good result from the ÖSS (Student Election Commission). The ÖSS has 2 exams now for 5 years. But just these exams sholdn't decide the student's educational life, there can be some other techniques.

Growth Mindsets

Have you had teachers or educational experiences that promoted a growth mindset ?
Like I believe, talents and intelligences can be developed by showing effort or doing practing etc. When I was in high school,my mathematic skill was really bad. When I talked with my mathematician teacher, he give me some suggestions.  He  encourage me to repeat the  topics and solve 5 question for each topics. When I started to do his suggestion, it was hard at first. But, after a while I saw my intelligence of mathematic was developed. Also, I was rewarded by my teacher for giving a good grade.  So like the growth mindsets' ideas, my mathematic skills was improved by showing some effort and apllying some methods.

Constructivism

Constructivism is a theory of knowledge  that argues that humans generate knowledge and meaning from an interaction between their experiences and their ideas. It has influenced a number of disciplines, including psychology, sociology, education and the history of science. In that learning theory, students infer new ideas and thoughts from the subject. That is,  they don't take just given information by the teacher. They add new things in their brain and they use their creativity.

Differentiated Instruction

Differentiated instruction is a method of designing and delivering instruction to best reach each student. That is, each student has an individual style of learning. Not all students in a classroom learn a subject in the same way or share the same level of ability. It is a good way to interact with the students for the teachers. For example, designing  lessons based on students' learning styles is an effective  way to reach the success. Moreover, the students can learn easily and love the lessons with that strategy. The teachers can also apply that strategy easily and improve or create many inventive ways with it. When I was in my highschool, my teacher divided us in a groups and we disscussed something which is about the lesson, but some students prefered to study individually. That is, everyone had a different styles and our teachers moved according to these strategies. That was good.

Teaching as a Profession: Collaboration with Colleagues

Be a team player. It's one of those sports analogies used frequently in the business world -- and in education. District and school administrators also want team players. The days of closing the classroom door and creating a self-contained world are over. The autonomous classroom simply doesn't exist -- and for good reason. The students need more than just one person to guide their education. They need the added power of several brains working together for their good. Yet collaboration does not always come easily.

Teachers are, for the most part, determined course setters. We also have strong opinions about what works and what doesn't work. That determination and self-direction are beneficial for  students; those characteristics facilitate learning and help teachers make it through each day. Put a group of determined, opinionated individuals in the same school, however, and you often have a recipe for headaches.
